Mars Bar Slice - My Way

I know I have been promising you this recipe for a while now. So here it is. It is fantastic. It is always gone before I know it and it is extremely fattening, which I love and goes great with a latte. I hope you enjoy as much as my friends and family do? So Easy :)
  1. 4 Mars Bars ( I like the king size because I am a chocoholic) sliced into pieces.
  2. 1 Tin Condensed Milk
  3. 1 Packet of Chocolate backed Scotch Fingers ( I use home brand, makes no difference)
  4. 100 grams melted Butter
  5. 300 grams melting Choc Buds ( dark for the adults)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Crush biscuits and then add melted butter, press into a slice tin. Arrange Mars Bar pieces on top of biscuit base. Pour over evenly tin of condensed milk. Do not lick the lid OK. I know it is tempting but it is really dangerous for your tongue. Trust me, I know. Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 Min's, until golden and bubbly. Allow to cool and refrigerate. Then melt the choc buds in the microwave on a medium setting ( 450 watts) Allow to sit until the chocolate sets. Then cut into pieces. I always cut of the edges off so that the slice pieces are even and pretty. Don't worry there is always someone around to take the edge bits of your hands. Refrigerate and eat at will. I have absolutely no idea how long it lasts in the fridge, as it disappears like magic. Enjoy. So Easy :)

Hi Amelita,
I just saw one of your threads at foodblogs'cool and had to laugh - children have a remarkable ability to suck out brains! And they don't really know they're doing it.

Anyway, happy to find your blog, and will visit again.

I haven't been to Australia, but look at foodie magazines from there, and it seems so cutting edge! I get a little jealous...

Hi Karen, Yes , my brain.........sucked....out, no ......function, lol, but I adore them. I am really lucky because parenting is a hard job. If they are sucking out my brain I know they love me.

I have been to the states and love it there. We have a goal to take our kids to San Fran and New York in Nov 2009 for a massive holiday.

We are very lucky with our food. So much diversity. We have just started the second TV series of Top Chef here. The first season was great and the Americans do not do things by halves. I love it!

Om my dear God, what have you done? I couldn't even look, the calories were just jumping all over me. They look and sound fantastic! Your site is coming along well now, thanks for the mention.

Thanks Neil, your a star. The fat content in this slice is disgusting but that's why it's soooooooooo good. Wait till you get my recipe for a very special lattace cheese cake slice. This one is just as dangerous.

For my US audience you can use any shortbread instead of the scotch fingers, just not a really delicate one.

Cheers Amelita
